Meeting called to order at 3:31

  1. Teacher's Update – Amanda Carillo and Alyssa Contreras
  2. Julie Ceko stopped in to let us know about the approval of her grant to attend Colonial Williamsburg conference. Asked if there was any PTO money for her to use to bring back educational tools.
  3. Time Capsule : Kris will send email to Amanda to send to teachers for last call on anything going into the time capsule.
  4. Kerri will send email to be forwarded to teachers reminding them to extend the invitation to the volunteer breakfast to ALL who helped out in the classroom.

 

  1. President's Report – Kerri Fox
  2. Update on open positions.
  3. Think about creating co-representatives for certain labor intensive positions and shadowing for those

vacating positions.

  1. Kerri and Patti will meet with the two new people taking over LPP next year.
  2. Jenny will work on finding another teacher's representative since Amanda will be gone next year.
  3. Kristin Spann will cover hospitality and Sascha will handle the Barnes & Noble fundraiser. Paula will

consider overseeing the school directory.

  1. Sara, our new librarian will run the bookfair.
  2. Our June meeting is scheduled for June 8th at Brenda's house, party style.
  3. Key dates for the final month of school.
  4. June 7th, 8:45 – Volunteer Appreciation breakfast
  5. June 8th – final day for Innisbrook orders
  6. June 9th – Yearbooks will be distributed to all preorders. The remainder being distributed the

following week.

  1. June 14th – Off the Wall Dog dine-out. Dana is still working on getting it flyer-free with 15% of the

proceeds as opposed to 20% with a flyer.

  1. June 15th – Coffee for 5th grade promotion
  2. June 16th – last day of school and Yogurt Shack dine-out.

III. Treasurer's Report – Sandy Grugel

  1. Sandy voiced the need for a new computer. The PTO approved the purchase, to be made by Sandy.
  2. Dolphin Dash netted about $10,500.
  1. Fundraising – Dana Pustinger
  2. Scholastic Backpacks – per Kim, we've sold 30 but need 50 to avoid $100 surcharge. Dana suggested we

put the reminders in PACE, Eblasts, and encourage the teachers to remind their students.

  1. Upcoming fundraisers include Barnes&Noble, Padres, and Gift Card Sales
  2. Dana would like to schedule next years' dine outs by this July. Palomar Pizza, Flippin Pizza, and Café

Luna, among others, are interested.

  1. Barbara voiced concern that the Padre ticket deadline is approaching too soon. Dana will find out from

Patti if we need a new deadline and should update the website.

  1. Some revenue reported: Green to Go: $172, Amazon.com: $50/month average
  2. Dana is still looking for a passive fundraising chair.

 

  1. Activities – Kim Perry and Meeghan Aimone
  2. Staff Appreciation lunch went really well. Rudy's gave us a great deal and the teachers loved. It.
  3. Picnic in the Park – Mrs. Frosty was a big hit. She'll return for 5th grade promotion. We should consider

having her back for carnival next year.

 

VII. Room Parent Report – Linda Pierce and Theresa Pasarnikar

  1. Linda will send out a thank you letter to all room parents and remind them of the volunteer breakfast.
  2. Linda and Theresa would like to have 2 meetings next year so that they get to know the parents better.

VIII. Principals Report – Jennifer Carter

  1. SchoolWires: There will be a district-wide website change happening from June 1-16th. Any unnecessary

Information should be dumped before June 1st. And any changes made during the 1-16th time frame will

need to be added after the 16th.

  1. Updates on budget/negotiations.
  2. We will have 6 furlough days but they could be restored with student participation.
  3. The impasse is over and we will not lose any teachers, though there will be many changes. There will

be a pay cut. Class sizes remain the same.

  1. Music and science will be in the budget proposal. We have money from the site budget for a part

time reading teacher but not enough for an aide. This will depend on Kindergarten enrollment.

  1. Jenny requested money from the PTO for 2, $50 gift cards by June 9th for our 2 retirees.
  2. The teachers asked Jenny about the copy machine and Kerri confirmed that it is due to arrive mid-August.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:50.
