Meeting was called to order at 3:30pm
Principal Report
1. Thank you for all that PTO does
2. Holiday Shop- Thank you for coordinating. Teachers appreciated that is was not during class time.
3. Surplus Proposal-Surplus money that was set aside at beginning of school year. Requesting $1000 to second grade for a sculpting unit. Christa Moreau spoke: Her friend is a professional sculptor. She will be doing the second grade project. They need 150 Armatures that hold the sculptures. Agreed that $1000 will be allocated to second grade for armatures.
4. Surplus Proposal-Leadership team day. Each grade level has a leader and they would like to take a day to work on leadership development, school goals, cohesion on campus and professional development. Requesting $900 to cover substitutes for the day. Agreed that $900 will be allocated to leadership development.
Teacher Report
1. Thank you for the cookies. It is one of the teacher's favorite things.
2. Talent show was a hit
3. Polar Express was great.
PAC Report
1. November Meeting: Lori Roy attended. Went over school websites. We have to make sure our website accommodates the visually impaired. There are requirements that we have to meet. Jen will meet with Ana to review this. Discussed scanners at schools. We should give Stephanie Kasperson any feedback regarding problems with the scanners.
2. December Meeting: Diana Lee attended. Went over assessments.
President Report
1. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little extra. Thank you for all everyone has done.
2. PTO member of the month is Lori Roy
3. Holiday Shop: it brought in $4287. We made $857 plus $1100 for using the company for both the holiday shop and carnival. First grader won the bike
4. January 2017 will be the kindness challenge. Maureen Harder will be leading. It will be brought up at flag salute and added to the newsletter. A week of doing kind things. Charts of kindness will be posted on wall in office. There will be a kindness craft station at recess. Mrs. Pacino has an orphanage in Mexico and the kids will donate by class.
5. Room Parent E-mails: please make sure content is correct before sending out. Check dates, spelling etc..
6. Dolphin Blast: Please include times and dates with the events.
7. No PTO business over the holiday break. Enjoy your time off.
Active Fundraising
1. Wave Fund: just under $40,000. New incentives: Platinum level: changed from carnival incentives to message on school marquee plus everything else already on incentive plan. Gold level: 2 spirit wear instead of 1. People can also add more money to get to the next level.
Passive Fundraising
1. Amazon smile banner is up. Quarterly average is approx. $170. up about 33%
2. Box Top form for Spring has been sent out.
3. Schoola: unsure of money made yet.
Communications
1. Newsletter: all spots for next newsletter are done. Small space still available. Will add Finding Neverland since a portion goes back to LCM. Will add Movie night. Possibly add Mrs. Foley or choir. If not, then will be on next one.
2. Kay checked in to make sure e-blast format was ok. Klimas will sent out speak out survey.
Activities
1. Movie night is February 10th. Movie will be Storks.
Art
1. Silver Graphics: all distributed and worked out well. Profit was $4,801. Will add to newsletter.
Treasurer
1. Not much has changed.
2. Baked Bear $35
3. Rudy's $107
4. Daddy Daughter Dance shows a negative since a deposit was just sent out.
5. Box top shows negative since no check yet.
Minutes from November 2016 were approved. Moved by LeAnne and seconded by Lori. All were in favor.
Budget from December 2016 was approved. Moved by LeAnne and seconded by Debbie. All were in favor.
