Meeting was called to order at 3:35pm

Principal Report

-All is going well at the school

-Jen questioned door mats in first grade rooms. Klimas said they are in the cafeteria ready to use. All classes should have them.

-Phone message tonight will address the following: parent night moved to 3/9 and will add date for 3rd one, flag salute cancelled due to rain, dads and donuts had 650 rsvp, and the kindness challenge starts next week

Teacher Report

-Kinder sent a nice thank you for their new rugs.

PAC Report

-December 2016 PACE promise

-new way state is going to measure was discussed, in our district no schools are now PI schools.

-digital parent workshop on 1/24 and 1/25

-there was tagging at SEMS and Albertsons

-connect to compete event is coming. good price on computers

-school wires may change next school year. In process of making changes now

-superintendent is retiring

-LCAP rep needed meetings start next week

President Report

2. Member of the month: Wendy, Birthdays: Debbie, Carolyn and Megan.

3. Carnival refund update: No refund yet!!

4. Donuts with Dads update: very popular, deadlines are important: please let teachers know forms still coming in and have to turn people away, suggestions for complaints: get name/email and they can help next time.

5. Kindness challenge update: Starts 1/23, kick off this Sunday at Tamarack 2pm, since flag is cancelled they will do kick off at school over loud speaker, check lists will be distributed to students, check list can be completed at school and home, student council will do quotes over the loud speaker, craft stations will be set up at recess and lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, Friday 1/27 we will have an assembly with Alex Montoya "You can do Anything", our school is supporting school in Baja, grade levels will be asked to bring supplies, supply list will be posted in office, Pacino will drive all the supplies to Mexico.

6.PTO LCAP rep needed, Kennedy explained how important the parent roll, from LCAP we have Reading intervention at our school and social workers in our district. Students can also go and voice their opinions.

7. Board Reps for 2017/2018 we need to know by our next meeting if you will be continuing on with your job. Please email Vicki prior to our next meeting

8. Dates on Website/Facebook: make sure the dates on there, look through calendar and get the rest of the dates for the year up, open house 3/30, will have food trucks at open house again, fifth grade promotion 6/19, end of the year picnic 6/16

9. Yearbook pictures: a lot of classes with no pictures. Please help with class parents and get the photos uploaded. Tributes are still coming in.

Activie Fundraising

-Apex

-Casey from Apex came in to give us some updates on this year

-issue in the past: deadlines, no pledges after deadlines

-New theme this year: Legendary Leader

-assembly 1st and 2nd day then run on Thursday

-Moreau offered to let us video a lesson and post on facebook

-5th graders are not that into the prizes instead will do a color run if enough money is raised

-Apex vs Dolphin dash: dash was a lot more work and time. Not as much money made either

-pie chart will go in dolphin folder to show where money goes

-Daddy/Daughter dance: 3/10 at the crossings in Carlsbad. K-2nd grade at 5-7pm and 3-5th at 7:30-9:30pm, cost is $25 per couple and $5 additional, Crossings will cater, no decorations or clean up needed, corsages are going to be through a parent at LCM that is a florist. FYI:if you run an event you cannot sell at that event.

-Spring Fest: 5/19, looking for venues. silent auction at event, there will be an app that lets parents who cannot go still bid on items.

Passive Fundraising

-Amazon Smile: amazon app not linked to amazon smile, got check for past sales

-Teacher Appreciation wish list: some did amazon last year and worked well

Communications

-newsletter is 99% done, small spot left.

Activities

-Movie Night: popcorn, hot choc, candy and water will be sold, dominoes pizza giving a good deal on the pizzas

-Mother/Son kickball: 4/28, embroider me will give deal on shirts, vendors so far: Notorious Burger, we need more to decrease the lines

Treasurer

-before forms go out to the school that are asking for payments etc they need to run by LeeAnn.

-let people under you running things know this so LeeAnn has time to process the payments.

-got check from AK martial arts. Their banner is missing?? will be looking for it

-got check from Hulse orthodontics and deposited it

-yearbook amount on budget is off because we had to send a deposit

-there is grade level money left that has not been spent

-we made $112 Rays famous pizza & wings dine out

-spirit wear doing great

-wave fun doing great

January 2017 budget was approved by Debbie and seconded by Megan
