Meeting was called to order at 3:38pm

Principal Report

-LCAP: Governor Brown shifted the regulations so we have more say in how we spend out money. We have 3 target areas: English language learners, Student socio-economic disadvantaged and foster youth. We do not have these target areas at our school.

-Pollero who is our intervention specialist is paid through LCAP.

-Mr. Williams is our part social worker. He runs support groups on campus, bullying lessons and second step social/emotional.

-4 goals with LCAP: college ready, intervention for getting kids ready, staff, and parent engagement.

-LCAP has seen great progress with universal access, intervention, co-teaching, push in services and ELA/ELD curriculum.

-over last year there was a 6% increase in ELA testing, 18% increase in ELA socio-economic disadvantage and 11% increase in math socio-economic disadvantage

-We need at LCM: socio-emotional support. We want social worker full time. We need continued support with English Language learners.

-In district suspension stayed the same and unexcused absences increased 2.29%

-LCM performance gap: we are consistent across district about 10% behind. We will work on our math at LCM.

-Actions to address:

-math intervention before school and would like to get it during school hours too.

-Feedback: (when asked what they wanted)

-SPED teachers would like more training in general education and self contained classrooms

-General education teachers would like a improved math curriculum

-Parents would like more information on ways to help kids.

-Klimas asked for parent feedback in PTO:

-Jen Trivitte requested more help from Ana Lucia with our website

-Wells said from teacher standpoint Mr. Williams is great and we need him full time.

Teacher Report

-Literature parade: no coffee cart this year. Recommended having one next year.

-Cherveny was in a meeting with 4th grade team to help fundraise for Haunted House next year. Possibly bring back gift of time and/or coin drive. Haunted House cost is $2800

-no meeting yesterday

-next one scheduled 3/22 regarding superintendent.

President Report

2. PTO member of the month: Carolyn, Debbie and LeeAnne. Birthdays: Vicki and LeeAnne

3. School events: make sure to give Heather and Joyce sheet on event so they know what to say when parents ask.

4. New photographer for next year: Life touch. All online, you can customize your order online and easier to coordinate yearbook.

5. Apex: at $84,000 of the $90,000 we wanted to collect. Tomorrow at flag there will be an announcement with incentives to collect. When we get to $90,000, the percentage goes up to 59% for the teachers.

6. Open PTO positions: attached on yellow sheet.

-Art Docent: board position with voting rights. Lori and Tori spoke that position can be shared. Will be in charge of ordering for art teacher and silver graphics.

-Carnival Chair: can be team. Will oversee all activities for carnival. Starts at the beginning of school. It is a big commitment.

-Vendor Rep: getting donations for silent auction and monetary donations from vendors.

-Haunted House Chair: oversee all things with the haunted house.

-Fun Run: 2 month prior to run meet with apex. Carolyn will stay one more year and then will let someone take over.

-Spirit Wear: Debbie spoke regarding this. You will do ordering, selling and processing of spirit wear.

-5th grade promotion: Diana spoke. You will be in charge of planning the 5th grade party.

-Box Tops: Tori spoke. Work with PTO to collect and count. 2x a year and website is amazing and helps you.

Active Fundraising

-Juice Pop sales: PTO member will need to get cash box, sell and count the money after.

-Food trucks for open house: Tracy Kelly is working on them. There will be 4 food and 2 dessert.

-Spirit Wear: last order in and will go out to students next week.

-Springfest: La Costa Greens presidio in club house on May 19th 6-10pm. Live music, parents only. $50 or more for donation items for raffle. A parent, Stacy, suggested have one really large item to get more money in.

Passive Fundraising

-Padre night is back and it will be either June 3rd or 10th. working on it now.

Communications

-Vicki Pile will replace Kay next year.

-Jen thanked everyone for not cc all on emails. It is very helpful.

-Kay thanked everyone for having the blast information on time.

Activities

-Vanessa and Michelle have made a binder of everything and it is amazing.

-Mother Son kickball April 29th: good response so far, vendors will be there along with our school's popsicle sales.

-Teacher appreciation week: on May 5th Mexican food

-Muffins with mom: May 12th 8:15-8:45am, flow should be better since it is not raining. Debbie suggested that bringing your child with you when you set up and enjoy before it starts. Possibly add on website to get dads to step up to set up for event.

-Open House: popsicle sales?? or another venue to increase sales.

Art Docent

-March 29th: Hanging art for open house in cafeteria before and after school. Need help if anyone can.

-March 31st: after school take down art and need help for that.

-send blast for middle school/high school to get helpers for community service credits.

-Tori suggested to teachers that if they need help with art stuff to email her.

Room Parent Coordinator

-Recommend coffee cart for Literature Parade.

-Parent, Stacy, suggested a Shred it event

-Parent, Stacy, suggested a golf tournament.

-Vicki loves the ideas and it someone wants to step up and run it that would be awesome.

Treasurer

-Apex: 92% collected. LCM $47,801.93 collected

-Daddy Daughter dance was great. Changing venue was awesome. So far $2800 and still waiting on others. Vicki noted changes were because we had a hard time getting volunteers.

-$250 under springiest is the deposit.
